Yesterday was Vinny’s One month ampuversary! 🙂 Woo hoo! Yay Vinny!
And just like the last post, no news is good news. Nothing major to report here, except that he is doing great! 🙂
It’s been unusually cold and rainy over the last few days, and Vinny just loves it! Being a big furry guy, he loves the cool weather! He gets extra cuddly! 🙂
He had his last dose of Metacam yesterday, and is now medication free! Next on the agenda will be this coming Thursday, when we will head to the hospital where he will have a check-up and his second round of doxorubicin chemotherapy treatment.
Here are some pics from today 🙂 We are just hibernating inside from the rain, watching movies, snacking and cuddling! The perfect Saturday with my furry family! I’ve always given a lot of love to my fur babies, but this whole experience has made me cherish every moment we have together. <3 We’re all here for a good time… not a long time. 🙂
And the other members of the furry family…

Way to go, Vinny! It’s so great to see how well he is doing 😀
Applawse! Applawse! Hoppy Ampuversary Vinny, you are just blazing right through the hardest parts and really cruising now!
Love your pack pics, you guys are freeking adorable. Hey I’m curious, how do you get along on those hardwood floors? Dogs slip all over the place. How do kitty paws handle that kind of surface when there’s one missing? I’d love to hear more.
Good luck with chemo this week!
Hey Vinny, you’re doing great. The worst part is over and now you can just be “you”, well, except for the chemo. And you can jump up! I assume going down is a breeze for you.
I also have hardwood floors and my cats have never had a problems with them except for taking a corner really fast – they all legs are flying until they get their grip. Mona, with her 3 legs has no problem until she goes to rub the top of her head on the floor then she falls over. But that happens no matter what surface she is on. It’s a good thing she has short legs. How does Vinny manage on the wood floor?
Kerren & Mona
Vinny seems to do just fine on the hardwood. I actually think it may even be beneficial for him. He seems to actually *glide* when moving quickly across the floor. He is on an exercise regiment and I get him to run a few times a day. The hardwood may allow for more momentum; less friction.
I think jumping, both up and down, would probably be easier for him on carpet, but it doesn’t stop him. He can easily jump up on the couch, bed and all the chairs he pleases! 🙂 He was never particularly agile (at all – haha), and is not a fast or acrobatic cat, like some. If he was, carpet would probably make more of a difference for him. Our hardwood is just fine for his laid-back nature.
I know my dog finds it easier on carpets, though. He is extremely high energy and always tearing around the place. He can still move fine on hardwood, but he does slip sometimes, and it’s easier when we are in places with carpet.
But carpets or anything similar has never been feasible in all the years I’ve had my furry family. The cats just tear it up (including yoga mats – they especially love to scratch these), and Milo has a weird fondness for peeing on carpets. He won’t pee on the floor – only carpets. So.. we go carpet free and we manage. 🙂
